The African Ministers of Housing and UN-Habitat have met in Rabat (Morocco) on 11 and 12 May 2016 for the first continental ministerial forum on housing and urban development, on “Urban policies and sustainable development” to prepare the third UN conference on housing and sustainable urban development (“Habitat III”), to be held in Quito (Ecuador) from 17 to 21 October 2016.

On 25 April, Mrs. Elena SUTORMINA, President of the Commission for public diplomacy and support to overseas citizens of the Civic Chamber, met Mr. Azai GULIEV, President of the Council for State support to NGOs under the Presidency of Azerbaijan, to discuss bilateral relations and implementation of the MOU signed in 2013.
HE King Muhammad VI appointed a committee to prepare COP 22 which will be held in autumn 2016, which includes the Economic, Social & Environment Council President (ESEC), Mr. Nizar BARAKA, as President of the scientific committee of COP 22.
An ESEC opinion is in progress on financing the development of SMEs.
On June 21 and 22, the ESDC will meet the Ministry of Labor and Industrial Relations of Sri Lanka as well as representatives of two unions and the Sri Lanka employers federation, to discuss promotion of social dialogue in Sri Lanka.
On April 21, the ESDC welcomed a tripartite Filipino delegation (union, employers’ federation and Ministry of Labor and Employment) to exchange experiences on social dialogue in both countries.
