REMINDER!

The next International Meeting and AICESIS General Assembly that will end the Russian Presidency of the AICESIS for 2013-2015 will be held in Moscow (Russia) at the Russian Civic Chamber Headquarters on 17 and 18, September 2015.

Since November 2014, the ESC of Burundi is led by a new Board, chaired by Mrs. Denise Sinankwa, former Minister of Trade and Industry, former Minister of Finance of Burundi; Mrs. Sinankwa also is Senior Advisor to the President of the Republic of Burundi in charge of economic issues. The Vice President is Mr. Donatien NIJIMBERE, Director General of SOSUMO sugar manufacturing company; the SG is Mrs. Josaphat KANZAYIRE and the Deputy SG is Dr. Kazihise Pierre CLAVER, Director of the National Institute of Public Health INSP. As part of a cooperation project, the ESDC of Korea and the Cambodian Advisory Committee of Labour will organize a conference to promote social dialogue and improve industrial relations in Cambodia (proposed date: November 2015). The AICESIS and the ILO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific will attend the event.

In July 2015, the ESDC will visit Myanmar to meet with leaders of trade unions, employers' organizations and members of the government to exchange on social dialogue and industrial relations.

The 8th Meeting of EU, Latin America and Caribbean Civil Society Organisations was held on 11 and 12 March 2015 at the EESC in Brussels (Belgium). The discussion focused on the opportunities and challenges of sustainable economic development between the EU-CELAC.

The Council of Ministers abruptly decided to close the NESC from April 30, 2015. Following this information by the President, Mr. SADIEN, AICESIS, the UCESA and the UCESIF sent letters of the Prime Minister of Mauritius.

To promote the "Continental Forum of civil society and social actors", a summit on the Panamanian civil society was organized on 12 March. The National Council for the Development has been active and over 150 civil society organizations attended it. Themes for the agenda: health, education, energy, environment, citizen participation, democratic governance, migration and security. The final declaration, including the recommendations, will be the basis for Panama's contribution to the Continental Forum.
