The Presidency of AICESIS is ensured for a period of two years according to some extent a principle of rotation by continent. It usually ends with a great International Meeting on the main AICESIS working theme. The theme for 2009-2011 is: "The role of Economic and Social Councils in the new global economic, social and environmental governance".
